New construction downtown off State Street

Have you noticed there is a new building going up downtown off State Street on the footprint of the house that was demolished a couple of years ago and was often referred to as the "second oldest house" in Bristol.

I am told that Jim Towers owns the building and is the person behind building it. Apparently he plans two retail spaces on the lower level with two apts above. The building now has a third floor with dormers!

Let's hope Mr. Towers completes this project and doesn't leave it unfinished like he did at 227 Thames St.

Just heard that Jim Towers is not the owner and that he sold it to his 'partner' Paulo Tenasio (sp?).

Apparently, one of the living units is to be affordable housing.
