Rhode Island finalist for Race to the Top

PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island is one step closer to winning $75 million in education funding after being selected as a finalist in the second phase of the Obama administration’s Race to the Top competition.

The Ocean State is one of 19 finalists for the second round of the competition. The U.S. Department of Education will choose the winners based on each state’s commitment to changing its education policies.http://www.pbn.com/stories/51431.html
